This is the main theme from the final movement, entitled The Great Gate of Kiev from Pictures at an Exhibition by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky (1839 -1881). Pictures at an Exhibition was originally composed for piano, inspired by a series 10 drawings and watercolors by his friend, and artist Victor Hartmann. Each movement is Mussorgsky’s musical depiction of a Hartmann painting.
